Underworld 2
I got soo much info on underworld 2 today. Including pictures form a guy who took some shots of them filming. All the info that could be considered spoilers will be in black so you’ll need to highlight it to read it. The pictures from the guy who saw the set are here here and here. and here is some basic info from IMDB and MovieVault.

Sir Derek Jacobi told The Financial Times that he’s just finished
filming a role in “Underworld : Evolution” and, he had a few things to
say about the experience.
“My character was the daddy of all the werewolves,” he sighs, but
it wasn’t the subject matter that irritated him. It was, as usual, the
script editing. “Any line that for me was characterful was cut. So my
part ended up being completely plot and cipher.” Did he at least get
to wear some monster prosthetics, I ask encouragingly. Another sigh.
“No, but I did at least get a hideous death.”
The production for Underworld: Evolution started on November 29, 2004
and runs through March 24, 2005 in Vancouver.
Orginally “Underworld 2″ was set to be released on November 23, 2005,
well it now looks like that date has changed. It is being reported
that Sony has bumped the film’s release date back to December 9, 2005.
That’s a two and a half week push from the film’s original release
date. Im sure it’s all about “positioning”, finding the best day to
release your film, instead of some kind of technical reason.
Not much is known about the film, but what we do know is that the
sequel will include more on Selene’s and Viktor’s history, as well as
Marcus will come out of the crypt.
Derek Jacobi it is rumored has signed on to the sequel to Underworld,
which we are currently calling Underworld 2. Jacobi will play Marcus
the Vampire Leader who will no doubt end up being a hybrid half
vampire half werewolf if you follow the first Underworld Movie. (there have been changes made to his role see the IMDB article)
Tom Rosenberg has stated that production is going to start in November
and that it will probably go with a different name other than
Underworld 2.
The second film will also delve into the characters past much more.
Almost a prequel of sorts is what it sounds like. “I think the real
intense followers of the whole saga will really, really love the
second one. It’s very intricate. It gives Selene’s history, Viktor’s
history and then of course now Marcus is going to come out of the
crypt. So it’s really cool. I’m excited about it.”
Apparently they want to add more action to the film. I actually
thought the first films weakness was too much action. “It’s much
bigger action but still, we have to keep the coolness of it and not
let the action overwhelm it. I like the whole world that’s created and
you have to stay within that world. I don’t want to jam mindless
nonstop action at the audience and this is going to still be story
driven. But we’re going to have cool sequences and some bigger action,
but if you do that on a sequel, and that’s what often happens, what’s
the point? This story is better. This story is more intricate and more
interesting. That’s what I really like about it.”
