Speed up bit torrent in vista May 28, 2008 at 12:58 pm
I switched away form the abomination that is vista a while back, but has to use this trick to make it more tolerable while i was using it. Heres how to disable vista’s throtteling of bit torrent:
1. Click on the Start menu and type cmd in the search box. But DO NOT hit Enter after typing cmd. Instead, hold down the Control and Shift keys, and hit Enter while still holding them down. This opens the command prompt with elevated privileges.
2. Type netsh int tcp set global autotuninglevel=disable and then hit enter. It should respond with “OK”.
3. Reboot (surprising, i know)
