PMOG
Ive been looking forward to my PMOG beta invite for a while now, and it was totally worth the wait. its a Passively multiplayer online game. meaning that you don’t really hafto actively do anything, just install the Firefox plug in and browse merrily along your way. each site you go to you are rewarded with “DataPoints” which are like currency, and theres a while load of things that are fun and helpfull about it
For example one can place “Lightposts” on different websites, which is PMOGs way of letting you tad sites with metadata. for instance i tagged my site with all the tags i put in my blog posts, aswell as “Awesome, callapygian, and blog” so if someone was looking for an awesome atheist blog they would be able to find me easier. just as i could tag a website with Linux tips and they could find it easier. since this is done on a per page rather than a per site basis it opens you up to more content that an SEO site would without using PMOG.
The other productive, or useful aspect is the “Portal” system. one can place a portal linking any 2 sires together, when a PMOG-er goes to a site with a portal it will give you the option of following the portal to wherever it leads, for instance a portal form myspace to facebook will inform the myspace user of their similarity, or form digg to redditt, or isohunt to demonoid. you cna find some pretty spiffy things by following portals.
and im not even going to get into the fun stuff like mines, armor, quests, and all that. mostly because im a shitty blogger and tired of typing, but part of it is you should really try it yourself. leave a comment with your proper email address filled in if you want an invite to the beta. later
