House Resolution 888
Is bullshit. Glad the house is being productive with my taxes. heres what it is.
Affirming the rich spiritual and religious history of our Nation’s founding and subsequent history and expressing support for designation of the first week in May as `American Religious History Week’ for the appreciation of and education on America’s history of religious faith.
This is bullshit because:
This country was not founded as a Christian nation, a man names Washington said that. theres also article 11 of the Treaty with Tripoli declared in part that “the government of the United States is not in any sense founded on the Christian religion” and balls and balls of other things i could site, like Thomas Jefferson’s dislike, to put it mildly, of organized religion.Jefferson said, “In every country and every age, the priest has been hostile to liberty. He is always in alliance with the despot, abetting his abuses in return for protection to his own. It is easier to acquire wealth and power by this combination than by deserving them, and to effect this, they have perverted the purest religion ever preached to man into mystery and jargon, unintelligible to all mankind, and therefore the safer for their purposes”. doesn’t sound like out founding fathers would appreciate this breach of total separation between church and state.
Done ranting. for now. prop-888 is bullshit.
