So lastnight i got to winestyles before everyone that i usually go with, this left me drinking wine and having no one to talk to, which is a sad sight to see. so while in line for the 2nd wine i started conversation with an evolutionary biologist at A&M. i ,having just seen the TED conference from Juan Enriquez on “Genomics“, was very well prepared for this. so after a good 10 minuets of conversation on genetics and evolution i had throughly out done him. He ended up asking ME questions about evolutionary biology! asking ME to clarify done of Dawkins statements! then his 2 friends came up and started asking various other questions on the topic of genetics and biology! all teachers in these field, then Scoggins showed up and i left to talk to him and on my way away he asked “what do you do for a living?”, i responded with “I.T.”. Needless to say he asked how i know all this, the answer of course is wikipedia and Dawkins, but it took all i had in me not to say “But I did stay in a holiday inn express lastnight”
But yeah, thats my crowning moment, knowing more evolutionary biology than a professor on the subject. i win.
