So back in 2004 I shaved a quake symbol into my head for Quakecon, it was wicked awesome and I got alot more free stuff as a result. but I was 18 at the time.. I’m 24 now.  What I’m saying is I want to do it again, so as usual with these decisions I’m turning it over to the Internet. what do y’all think?

Get ready for the 2010 Texas Game Break! What is the Texas Game Break? It is very hard to put a name on what this is. What it is, has never taken place before in the state of Texas. People from all walks of life, poker players, board game fanatics, console gamers, role playing gamers, dominoes and even social media games will be in attendance. From Tournaments, exhibits, a gamers market place, Lan Parties, live RockBand contests, Game Design Classes, and Social Game areas. Also available will be Speakers from the game community from Artists, Programmers, Sound Developers, and Game Companies will be there. Booths featuring higher education in gaming will also be on site for anyone who wants to pursue a career in the Game Industry. It’s not a festival, nor a conference, it’s not even a convention. It’s Texas Game Break, a place where gamers meet, play and learn about all things in the Gaming community.

Get Ready and Get Registered!

There have been alot of really smart and innovative game controllers coming out recently. I’m very pleased with the direction the gaming peripherals market has been heading! I got a chance to play with the Novint Falcon at Quakecon last year and fell in love! its a great device, really brings the player into the FPS experience, prob the best step forward in the peripheral market since the NES Zapper. Force feedback is bitchin, exp when it gives you realistic stopping points as far as motion in game, but I digress.
The reason I bring that up is to discuss the next step forward. Force feedback is awesome, but what a competitive FPS gamer really needs is ease of use, and quicker reaction time. Spiffy trinkets are one thing, but shaving a millisecond off your reaction time and reloading. now that will sell. I’m thinking that’s where the Peregrine is taking us. It seems like a power glove on steroids Its a glove that you wear while gaming and by touching your thumb to various touch points on the fingers you can execute an action. Whether it be a macro or a simple keystroke. ideally the system could be used to replace a keyboard and mouse all together (with some modifications) but as a supplement to a keyboard and mouse, it seems like it cut down my reaction time significantly! not to mention that it looks fucking amazing!

Not to mention the possibilities for using this as a keyboard alternative when typing. I love the idea of wearable computing as you may imagine. and this kind of gaming gear brings us one step closer to my wearable computing dreams.

I cannot explain how awesome Left 4 Dead is. more later, maybe

This game has sold me for several reasons, top on the list is tossing people out of helicopters, superhuman abilities, co-op multiplayer, fully interactive free-play game style…. but seriously, jumping up on a helicopter and throwing someone out… who can really ask for more? looks like a cross between F.E.A.R, Assassins Creed, and a big pile of sexy. from what the developers say there “Focusing heavily on story” (woot). youll hafto watch the video below to get a grasp on just how free play this game seems to be.
