Android App: Steel

by NeonDemon on May 14, 2009

Steel is an alternative to the built in browser in the Android OS. ive been using it for about a week now and ive gotta say, i strongly prefer it to the default option! Its got a much better UI, very shiny and easy to use. Rather than those annoying plus and minus symbols at the bottom you can just plant your finger anywhere on the page and slide it to the plus or minus options to smoothly zoom in and out. the same process when done on a picture or link brings up other options like save, share, open, etc. And it seamlessly integrates with other popular apps (as do most android apps). For example selecting share will let you tweet, pixelpipe, blog, or email links and pics. I could go on but its damn hard to review a browser on a phone, suffice to say what its able to improve upon, it does and well.
